Abstract

The article deals with the main projections of modernization of Russian education in the professional activity of education managers. Characteristics and criteria of education managers’ professional success are distinguished and described. This paper examines the characteristics of diSerent levels of determination of professional success of managers of educational institutions. The authors emphasize the role of diSerent types of psychological competence7– communicative, social,  informational, autopsychological7– in the organization of activities of the subject of management. Directions and possibilities of development of managers’ professional psychological competence in this area are described. Important subjective factors of professional
success in managerial activity are systematized. The analysis of managers’ presentations of the criteria and characteristics of success is oSered. The article shows substantive and structural features of the psychological portrait of a modern manager of education as a subject of innovation management activities. The analysis and interpretation of results of the empirical study of the level of subjective control, degree of achievement motivation, strategy of behavior in conTict situations,
and a number of characteristics demonstrating an aspiration for authoritarianism and power or submission and altruism among education managers are oSered. The authors characterize psychological risks and informational and communicative
diUculties in modern education managers’ activities. The order for managers for psychological support of professional development is revealed and structured. Directions, possibilities and psychological conditions of the development of managers’ resources in the context of professional activity are described. Based on the results of the theoretical and empirical analysis the article substantiates
the necessity of using psychological characteristics of technologies in the development of professional competence of education managers. The main directions and objectives of realization of the program of psychological support of professional and personal development and competent behavior of modern managers of the educational institution are established.
